WHAT'S UP IN THE GEORGIAN BLUFFS?
Copper Kettle, Cobble Beach, Slough of Despond, Big Bay, Balmy Beach ... just some of the names
that paint a picture on the Georgian Bluffs canvas. Rolling hills, sharp escarpment edges, endless
turquoise blue waters of Georgian Bay, and three of the most breathtaking waterfalls you’ll ever see.
The Indian, Jones & Inglis Falls. A township where farming, fishing, hiking, golfing and driving
are not just pastimes but a way of life.
Georgian Bluffs is a collection of communities stretching north from Chatsworth to Wiarton. Visitors enjoy
a banquet of natural beauty no matter what the season. Hear the falls roar in the spring as winter snows
melt, feel the cool breeze off Georgian Bay as the summer day fades into warm evening, smell the crisp
fall winds that tumble colourful fall leaves to the forest floor, taste the cold winter snowflakes drift
through the holiday season.
Home to four golf courses the Township is an active community for golf including Cobble Beach Golf Links,
Owen Sound Golf & Country Club, the Wiarton Golf Club and Northern Dunes at Hepworth.
Culturally diverse, the Grey Roots Museum & Archives offers first class exhibits and a newly opened Heritage
Village named Morestown. A haven for weavers, potters and artists, Georgian Bluffs features roadside studios,
farmers markets and local shops to spark your interest on a day trip in the country.
Hike the Bruce Trail as it meanders through Georgian Bluffs overlooking the famous Slough of Despond and
Colpoys Bay. Explore Bruce’s Caves, Cedar Hill Park, Kemble Mountain Conservation Area, Sarawak Family Park.
You can access a multi-use rail trail stretching from Owen Sound through Shallow Lake to Park Head in all seasons.
Anglers will find excellent cold water fishing on Georgian Bay and in the tributaries and headwaters to the
Pottawatomi and Sydenham Rivers. Some inland lakes offer tremendous opportunity for bass busters.
