With Cobble Beach Golf Links, Doug Carrick has crafted a course that calls to mind the game's legendary seaside locations. Each nine winds its way through open meadow edged with mature woodlands, rising to provide commanding views of the course and Georgian Bay and beyond, then returning to the shore for a memorable finish along the bluffs.

The Course

Hole 1 Stewart

292 to 412 yards, par 4
Your Cobble Beach round begins on a medium length par 4 with two strategically placed bunkers guarding the left side of the landing area. The fairway rises to a softly sloping green that offers the first of many fabulous views of Georgian Bay.

Hole 2 The Dell

257 to 364 yards, par 4
A serpentine par 4, The Dell is a short hole that offers a variety of strategies. The fairway winds over rolling ground and around bunkers before arriving at a well-contoured green atop a dramatic ridge. It's a hole that tests your imagination as well as your swing.

Hole 3 Meadow

338 to 455 yards, Par 4
A strong par 4 with a wide, accepting fairway, the ideal play at Meadow will depend upon the wind direction. The fairway ambles across tumbling terrain and gently rises to a green tucked neatly into the corner of two hedgerows.

Hole 4 The Carrick

255 to 345 yards, par 4
A short, uphill par 4 with a fairway that narrows as it approaches the green. Bunkers on this hole are placed to gobble up errant drives and approach shots. The green is nestled into an opening surrounded by trees and falls off softly on all sides, leaving short-game options once you've cleared the sentry bunkers. View Golf Scorecard

Hole 5 Chippewa

384 to 489 yards, par 4
A tough par 4 that requires two very good shots to reach and hold the green. The undulating fairway presents challenging lies for the lengthy approach shots to a green that has more slope than you'll notice at first glance.

Hole 6 The Cairn

115 to 197 yards, par 3
The Cairn is the first of four wonderful par 3s and presents quite differently from each of its six tee decks. A pair of trees just ahead of the forward tees narrows your path to a green that falls off on three sides. Two bunkers stand at the throat of the approach to swallow the timid shot.

Hole 7 Chi-Cheemaun

477 to 586 yards, par 5
The breathtaking panorama of Georgian Bay awaits you at the seventh tee, positioned at one of the highest points on the course. Chi-Cheemaun's downhill, undulating fairway dives over a prominent ridge, giving long and straight hitters an excellent chance to get home in two. One of many cobbled brooks meanders down the right side of the hole, disappearing off to the right of the raised and guarded green.

Hole 8 Sanctuary

98 to 207 yards, par 3
Perched dramatically by the bay, this par 3 offers a long view toward the ninth and eighteenth holes, down the shoreline and on to Owen Sound. Ledged into a slope, the green slants away from the player and flows naturally out of the landform to the right.

Hole 9 Nahnee

443 to 553 yards, par 5
This well bunkered par 5 follows the ridge between a long pond and the bluffs of Georgian Bay. The narrow undulating fairway funnels shots towards a receptive green near the Cobble Beach Clubhouse. Thrill the gallery on the patio with your bold approach for a birdie (or eagle!).

Hole 10 Ruin

341 to 464 yards, par 4
A fierce, uphill par 4 that calls for two great shots to reach the green in regulation. The rolling fairway is guarded by deep bunkers on the left and rises steeply to the green, which sits in a natural amphitheatre. Par is an excellent result here, birdie a memorable occasion.

Hole 11 Johnny's Burn

278 to 411 yards, par 4
A cobble-strewn creek called Johnny's Burn burbles along the left side as you approach the hummocky fairway that runs from right to left - away from the bunkers, but towards the pond that defines the challenge. When the pin is on the left of the green, you'll have to flirt with the water to make a good score.

Hole 12 Calamity

443 to 546 yards, par 5
A hole to be approached with respect and accuracy rather than brute force. Water stretches from tee to green down the left side of this dogleg left par 5. The undulating fairway provides for some challenging lies and narrows in the landing area for your second shot. Bunkers guard the entrance to a softly sloping green.

Hole 13 Rob's Gulch

336 to 467 yards, par 4
A demanding par 4 with sweeping contours, this hole will test every aspect of a player's game. The fairway rolls down to the right over a ridge and to a gulch before rising to a stunning green site with great views over the bluffs.

Hole 14 Grove

117 to 190 yards, par 3
A strong uphill par 3 with two deep bunkers in front and to the right of the angled green. The wise player can bring the ball into the green by using the shape and roll of the closely-mown area to the left.

Hole 15 Temptation

233 to 343 yards, par 4
Playing downhill and often downwind, Temptation beckons the longer hitters to go for the green with a mighty drive. But beware: a boulder-strewn creek crosses just short of the green and will catch all but the mightiest blow. Once across the creek, the slightly raised green is surrounded by undulations that will test a player's touch and imagination.

Hole 16 The Sound

271 to 400 yards, par 4
This mid-length par 4 arches softly to the right around an elongated pond that stretches to the green. The rolling fairway leads to a subtle green perched at the edge of the pond. The limestone ringed back tee features a terrific view of the bay and the surrounding area.

Hole 17 Lighthouse

107 to 171 yards, par 3
This breathtaking par 3 plays downhill to a large green that appears to fall off into Georgian Bay itself. Deep bunkers protect the front and water circles around the right side of this wide green that features several different levels.

Hole 18 Bluff

436 to 574 yards, par 5
A scenic end to a spectacular round, this no-nonsense finishing hole winds its way along the edge of the bluffs and around an archeological site. The softly flowing fairway rises steadily from the tees to a large, subtle green sloped receptively from back left to front right. A small grouping of trees at the top of the bluffs protects the green from the wind that nips at the rest of this hole.
