| Job Summary: The First Cook must carrying out the functions of preparing and cooking advance culinary dishes under close supervision of the Sous Chefs and the Executive Chef. The first cook is also responsible for the supervision of other staff while the Sous chef and Executive chef are unavailable. Job Tasks (duties): -Responsible for the proper preparation and presentation of menu items set out by the Executive Chef and the Sous Chefs. -Prepares lunch or dinner mise en place and service depending on the assigned station. -Understands and follows instructions including but not limited to recipes, equipment operation, safety and hygiene information. -Provides value-added service to members by doing whatever possible to meet or exceed member expectations. -Demonstrates teamwork by cooperating and assisting co-workers as needed. -Returns food to proper stations after each function and ensures kitchen cleanliness and readiness for the next function. -Takes proper care of ranges, griddles, broilers, fryers, utensils and other equipment and any other duties that are assigned by the Executive Chef. -Attends work on time as scheduled, follows club’s grooming and dress standards. -Minimizes safety hazards by following all safety rules and procedures. -Must be aware of and compliant with the latest health and safety policies. Keeps the Executive Chef promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance. -Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with club’s policies and procedures to achieve the overall objective of this position. -This position requires the ability to learn on the job and to work under pressure and an ability to focus on essential tasks in a busy environment. -Follows all safety rules and procedures set by the Cobble Beach Golf Links Health & Safety Committee. -Performs all duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while respecting their own and others’ safety and well-being -Performs all duties as assigned.
